If not read on….

About Allen Carr

Allen Carr struggled as chain-smoker for over 3 decades. In 1983, after numerous failed attempts to stop smoking, Allen went from 60-100 cigarettes a day to zero without suffering any withdrawal symptoms, without using any willpower, and without putting on extra weight. He then understood  that he had unearthed  what the world had been desperate for, the easiest way to stop smoking, and Allen embarked on a solo mission to help cure the world’s smokers.

As a result of the awe inspiring success of his method, Allen gained an international reputation as the world’s leading expert on stopping smoking and his network of clinics are now spread across the planet. His first book, Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking, has sold over 12 million copies, and it is still a global bestseller. It has been published in more than 40 different languages.

Allen Carr’s Easyway method has been successfully applied to a host of issues including sugar addiction, alcohol, debt, and other addictions.

SO HOW DOES THE BOOK HELP

When reading the book you will learn a every simplistic and easy method to quit smoking. Simply read the book, and carry on smoking! That’s unique as it doesn’t scare the hell out of anyone who cannot imagine going cold turkey  while reading the book. Why you may ask? Well telling smokers to stop smoking  immediately would simply elevate anxiety and force them back to the cigarettes. The books Easy Way instead untwists common beliefs and myths linked with smoking, and these allow  the reader to ponder over  the case before making their own conclusion.

WHAT IS THEN WRITTEN IS EVEN MORE  INTERESTING

What Allen Carr, who himself was a former accountant and smoked over 100 cigarettes a day for over 30 years, explains to the reader that one does not benefit from anything when smoking. All Smoking does is satisfy  the addiction’s desire to nourish  itself. As you read on you will discover how the addiction to nicotine is described as a monster with a voice, which sounds like complete fantastical madness, but halfway through reading the book the voice starts to become recognisable — in one’s own craving for tasty Peter Stuyvesant or whatever your favourite brand happens to be.

The Allen Carr method offers An easy way to quit smoking . The book explains that the comfort the smoker experiences when smoking is just how non-smokers feel all the time. Giving up smoking is therefore described as a liberation from slavery rather than a hopeless slog that will make us irritable, fat and generally unpleasant.

The book explains that actual nicotine withdrawal only lasts three days, so from then on any pangs of desire for a cigarette are habitual rather than physical. You are encouraged as the reader to throw yourself into all social events, drinking and partying. ‘Go out and enjoy yourself immediately !

You do not need cigarettes even while you are still addicted to nicotine. Go to a party, and be happy in the fact that you do not have to light up a smoke.’ Similarly, the book addresses the illusion that giving up smoking is linked to weight gain: ‘The weight myth is due to using substitutes during the withdrawal period such as snacks. In fact, they do not make it easier to stop. They make it harder.’ The book systematically rejects all of the myths and illusions that sustain the culture of smoking.

And it’s true. Stopping smoking has not been nearly as traumatic as I thought. Allen Carr’s ” Easy way to stop” book gives clear instruction to tell yourself,  that you are a non-smoker.

As the book progresses the mind transforms ones thinking about why you are actually not giving up on anything when you quit smoking cigarettes, and that you are actually gaining a lot more. Its a psychological mindshift that seems to work for many.

SUCCESSS STORIES

I quit smoking on March 24, 2016 after 54 years of heavy smoking. I didn’t use any kind of nicotine replacement–no pills, patches, gum, etc. This book is partly to credit for my success and I found An easy way to quit smoking . The book is simplistic, but the repetition of the central theme–Quitting smoking is easy!–works effectively as a form of self-hypnosis. I recommend it for that encouragement, but you will find a wealth of perhaps more useful information at whyquit.com.

The most important part of quitting is to make the decision to quit, to end one’s addiction to nicotine. In order to do that you have to find a genuinely personal motivating reason for quitting. Once you do that it IS easy to quit.

Without wishing to overgeneralise, people like me – well read, sceptical, snobbish – think that self-help manuals are lame and the people who read them are losers. But ask which book I most regularly recommend to others, or which has had the most significant influence on my thinking and lifestyle, and I’ll have to admit that it’s my well-thumbed charity-shop find The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently by the late Allen Carr – an extended recapitulation of his 11-million-selling 1985 hit The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

What I discovered in its pages was a deeply shocking truth: that I’d neither enjoyed nor depended upon cigarettes to the extent I’d thought. In fact, I hadn’t enjoyed or depended upon cigarettes at all – I’d merely convinced myself otherwise so as to assuage the cognitive dissonance between the rational part of my brain, which knows smoking is an ill-advised, expensive and dangerous hobby, and the short-sighted, nicotine-addicted pre-mammalian parts of my brain that didn’t care, and just wanted another cigarette.

Conclusion

If you are looking for an easy way to quit smoking, Allen Carrs book is definitely a proven method.
