Smoking is one of the toughest habits to kick. Every year many people die smoking.
Smoking Leads To A Painful Death
The lead up to death by smoking may not sound so bad but the actual death itself is drawn out and horrific. Starved of oxygen and damaged by years of smoking, the human lungs eventually slow down and stop offering life giving Oxygen to the human body. Have you ever panicked when you cannot breathe Many Asthma sufferers will tell you the fear they experience when they are struggling to breath. The final breaths of a long time smoker are prolonged and very painful to watch. Like a fish out of water, the smoker gasps for air and suffers a violent and needless death.
As Smokers We Don’t Think About Dying Until Its Too Late
Why is it that we continue to smoke even though we are constantly warned that we may die from the habit. Firstly, as addicts we refuse to give up on something unless we are affected immediately. If we smoked one cigarette and struggled to breathe we would probably not touch them again. Smoking starts with one or two cigarettes and escalates into a habit that costs us a fortune in health and money. The sad thing is, many people do not give up. Many people die smoking. The horror of a slow and gradual death scares many, but until they are actually in the throes of those final gut wrenching moments of life nothing will stop them.
The Habit Is So Deeply Seated
Ingrained deeply, the habit formed by smoking is so tough to break. Strict self-discipline and strong will is required to walk away from these Oxygen thieves called cigarettes. Humans often don’t like anything that is hard. Most of us like the easy road. Giving up smoking is not easy.
